The Illinois legislature is apparently applying Meredith Wilson’s “Think System” to the state’s budget:
Democrats who control the Illinois House and Senate spent the last two weeks publicly shredding Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner’s “Illinois Turnaround†agenda.
House Speaker Michael Madigan on Memorial Day held a press conference to announce his plan to pass a budget that he acknowledged was $3 billion out of balance. The next day, all but a handful of Democrats approved nine bills that Republicans say spends $4 billion more than the state will take in during the budget year that starts July 1.
The Senate did the same a day later. It also held committee hearings that rejected key parts of Rauner’s agenda.
Think revenue, men. Think.
I’d hit the “favorite” button if you had one!
True fiscal reform won’t happen in any blue state until the last revenue-producing resident crosses the border to find friendlier more self-sustaining pastures elsewhere. Until then progressive government leeches will attach themselves to property and business owners in order to subsidize their own misdirected policies of governance.
