Can someone please explain for me the consolidation that’s apparently going on in the chip industry? Unless I’m greatly mistaken it’s been 30 years since we’ve seen a cluster of mergers and acquisitions like this in that industry.

They got Bernie Sanders memo on the evils of brand and features proliferation. Jays, Lays, Vintners…. Cheesy chips, ranch, barbecue, olive oil and cracked pepper. It’s just too much. Too much. Bad for society.
I don’t follow semis, but younknowmthe usual consolidation drivers. Slow global growth, led by consumer electronics?
