The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winner in the Council post category was Bookworm Room’s post, “Why Jews Are Right To Suspect Obama’s Advisersâ€. Second place honors went to Soccer Dad for “Dear Mr Hoyt”, for which I voted.
The winning non-Council post was Kaboom: a Soldier’s Journal’s, “ Deep Thoughts with Biggie Smalls”, a very interesting collection of anecdotes about their Iraqi interpreter. Second place honors went to Iowahawk’s “Return to Sender”, a typically amusing post from Dave Burge chronicling the evolution in a Congressman’s frank mail over successive terms in office. Tied for second place in the non-Council category was The Paragraph Farmer’s “Over Red Coffee Cans and Cigarettes”, an imagined conversation on the part of the author with his grandmother. An exceptional post.
