Taking Dictation

The Wall Street Journal dictates a single sentence to characterize the Obama presidency:

He brought America back from economic collapse and kept us strong and secure in the age of terror.

I suspect that President Obama isn’t eager to take dictation. I’m not sure how President Obama himself would like his Sentence to read but I doubt it would be the same as the one the WSJ has given him. Nor is it entirely clear to me that events have already bestowed that sentence on him as the WSJ suggests. Right now a pretty strong candidate would be:

He was elected after George W. Bush.

which I doubt he would like much, either.

  • He brought America back from economic collapse, kept us strong and secure in the age of terror, and negotiated the first treaty with Jang, our new insect overlord.

    The future: sometimes surprising.

  • Whatever the tone of my post may be, it’s mostly a kvetch about the presumption of the WSJ editorial writers.

  • Wait, I have more:

He brought America back from economic collapse, kept us strong and secure in the age of terror, and was the first president to undergo a sex change operation.

He brought America back from economic collapse, kept us strong and secure in the age of terror, and forced Mexico to take back Texas.

He brought America back from economic collapse, kept us strong and secure in the age of terror, and became the first president to compete on Dancing With the Stars.

    Yep. Avoiding work.
