Meeting the Qualifications

When I read commentary like Ruth Marcus’s column on how Carly Fiorina is unqualified to be president, I am immediately struck with the recognition that Ms. Marcus has no idea what CEOs of Fortune 500 companies do. I have known quite a few over the years and I’ll tell you: they’re politicians. The same is true of generals. You don’t make it to general without being a politician.

I don’t care for Carly Fiorina and wouldn’t vote for her but it’s not because she’s unqualified. She meets the constitutional requirements of age and being a native-born citizen. Those are the only requirements.

For those who think there are other requirements, explain to me again how a one-term senator who’s only been elected in one statewide election in what’s generally considered a “safe” state is qualified to be president.

Just for the record I think that Barack Obama was qualified to be president in 2008 just as I think Carly Fiorina is now. I honestly don’t think you can make Ruth Marcus’s qualifications argument without deciding that Hillary Clinton isn’t qualified to be president but I guess that where you sit is where you stand.

You don’t think the brilliant RESET Button stunt policy with Russia doesn’t qualify Hillary for the Presidency all by itself?
