It all begins innocently enough.
Perhaps a pumpkin or two.
And then you think, “How about just one scarecrow?â€
But these things have a way of accumulating over the years and taking on lives of their own. Soon your yard is full of pumpkins and scarecrows.
More mums.
Will is not amused by a dangling spook.
Troops of ghosts parade across your lawn.
Then you have fake spiderwebs covering your bushes, all the way up to your lintels, and a giant purple spider creeping on your bushes.
Or crawling up your trees.
Whole graveyards appear on your lawn.
Complete with open coffins, skeletons, and other nasties.
It gets more elaborate over the years.
Until your’re eventually left with a huge skull floating in a plastic bubble, illuminated with flickering lights.
Amusedly and lovingly collected on a walk through my neighborhood yesterday.

Great pics! I adore Halloween. Here in Boston there is a big bike ride (about 150 riders), all costumed, many freaky. We ride into Harvard Square and take over the city of Cambridge!
