Speaking of the Mueller investigation, what do you think of it so far? I think that what we’re learning is something I’ve believed all along—that Trump has surrounded himself with creeps, jerks, snake oil salesman, sycophants, slimeballs, and swindlers. The meat of the investigation—whether Donald Trump and/or his campaign knowingly colluded with the Russian government to steal the 2016 presidential election from Hillary Clinton—has been pretty weak tea so far.

I think we may see one more round of indictments before Labor Day but that the Special Counsel will largely go silent until after the election, with the exception of Paul Manafort’s second trial, which starts in mid-September in D.C. The investigation will continue, though.
Don’t know, but would assume after the midterms at this point. Whether he was right or wrong, well-intentioned or not, Comey’s announcements on the Clinton investigation marked the 2016 elections in a way that I think most investigators would try to avoid in the future.
I don’t know what to think of it yet – too little information to go on.
Pretty much agree. It is pretty clear that Manafort and Gates were both in financial troubles and engaged in illegal, sleazy and borderline legal behavior. Just the kind of people who might be susceptible to trying to sell influence. I said at the start of this that I would be surprised if Trump actually did anything, but that it was likely several people around him would be guilty of stuff.

There is no evidence Trump worked with Russian intelligence to steal the election, because if there were it would have leaked by now.
The only thing with Russians we know about is the meeting at Trump Tower. And there’s been what–84 different versions of it? They were obviously looking for dirt on Hillary and the Russians were apparently hacking into DNC computers. It’s not hard to do the math and conclude that Trump knew where this dirt was coming from and how.
And who knows what Cohen has on Trump.
But almost certainly he’s not going to be impeached. Whatever comes out, Trump’s supporters will accept with abject humiliation and become even more devout.

Not quite. We know Hillary hired a washed up British spook to get bogus dirt from Russians which was used to obtain FISA warrants.

Which we now know were mostly obtained by using information other than the dossier and that the FBI was correct the Manafort, Gates, Flynn, etc were engaged in financial chicanery and/or hiding payments. Just the kind of people susceptible to selling influence.
