It’s snowing here in Chicago. We’ve had just under two inches of snow in the last 24 hours and it’s sticking. The last time I remember having this much snow on the ground this early in the season was more than 20 years ago. That year we had snow on the ground continually from early December all the way into April.
I’m ready for it. I’ve got snowshoes that I had no opportunity to use at all last year, sled dogs, and a sled in case things get really desperate. Let it snow!
An interesting day trip in the winter is to go up to Bong Recreation Area in Kenosha County and see the dog sled teams practicing.
