It Shall Not Be Named

Consider:

December 8, 1941

Yesterday, December 7, 1941 – a date which will live in infamy – the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its Government and its Emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in Oahu, the Japanese Ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to the Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese Government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. Very many American lives have been lost. In addition American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya. Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong. Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam. Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands. Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island. This morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.

Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I believe I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces – with the unbounded determination of our people – we will gain the inevitable triumph – so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December seventh, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.

No wonder people are stumbling around in a fog these days.

When the narrative does not fit the facts, adjust the facts to fit the narrative. Problem solved.

There was also a Beaver, that paced on the deck,
Or would sit making lace in the bow:

The Bellman has sent the Beaver out to knit us a tale fit for the Hunters of Snarks, but I suspect our Snark will be a Boojum. If so, we will softly and suddenly vanish away.

There’s a case out of Idaho, too. If that one turns out to be even half as bad as being reported…. Of course, they can’t report anything officially, except to say everyone involved are minors. Sure, okay.

The narrative from Orlando won’t hold, as by Florida law those 911 calls will have to be released. (I believe some identifying information of victims can be withheld.)

Really, how the fuck is it that the USA came to have such clowns running the show?

I still get pissed, out of habit, but it really isn’t my country anymore and I shouldn’t care. I don’t care about the PULSE attack. Afghani jihadi (quite possibly a victim of pederasty as a boy) shoots up a bunch of Hispanic gays, and the first response has been to blame straight white men, especially if they happen to be Christian, for not supporting the rights of gays to marry and the right of Dr. Frank-N-Furter to use the bathroom with my 6 y/o daughter. Any sympathy I had for the shooting had completely faded within an hour of my finding out about it.

Wonder if there will be a paradoxical effect. While I can understand the desire of a publisher, blogger, etc to admit omitting any free advertising for Daesh, from my government I expect candor.

Why were the victims of Dylan Roof (Charleston church massacre) allowed to be re-victimized over and over by discussing his motivation? His mistake was not calling 911 and declaring his allegiance to ISIS. Taking down Confederate flags was only radicalizing more people.

If the white supremacist groups pledged allegiance to ISIS, racism would be eliminated. If Trump had any sense, he would pledge allegiance to ISIS, and he would be off-limits.

Affirmative action hire, ice. Get ready for Part Deaux.

According to Fox, this was a decision made solely by DOJ and same agency has decided “an unnecessary distraction” will be resolved by released the transcript in full. So, one small victory for open government.

Redaction just makes you want to run through walls, eh?

Maybe Steve Kerr gave the Warriors a redacted version of the pre game pep talk……

I think we need to not lose sight of what is important here – Muslim’s feelings. Muslims need to be reassured that in the US, Americans expect to be killed by guns, and nobody is blaming them.

In fact, the US would be honored if they would shoot up a few more gay clubs. Well, as long as they leave the transgendered bathrooms alone.

If Muslims burn a Star and Crescent on a black family’s lawn and the father puts out the fire, can he be charged with a hate crime?

If a gay person does not die after being thrown off of a building, can he be charged with a hate crime?

If somebody prevents a girl’s sexual organs from being mutilated, can they be charged with a hate crime?

Can the victim of any crime involving a Muslim be anybody other than the Muslim no matter who committed the crime? If these groups are willing to sacrifice themselves on the alter of political correctness, I would like to invite more radical Islamic terrorists to help, and I would like to set up a fund to get them the most gruesome tools possible.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Our Bellman arrived with his crew in tow, but the Banker has been thrown overboard. The Barrister has disembarked, and the Billiard-marker jumped ship to become the next Bellman (or Bellperson). Now, a Boots has been added to the crew, and what lovely Bonnets and Hoods she is making. It is possible she will increase the number and size of Hoods to an all time high.
