The picture above was taken by my dad more than 40 years ago on a family trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. This picture was taken in Wyoming and I believe it’s in the vicinity of the Grand Tetons. Those are my sisters in the foreground.
Oh man – this makes me miss my place of birth, Montana. I remember driving between Arizona and Montana and passing through Wyoming – gorgeous. Breathtaking.
How fun to see us there, buncha towheads! D. and I revisted this lake and paddled the Schuler canoe across this lake in 1975. The wind was so fierce, it was the hardest paddle I ever did but we were determined to reach the trail at the other side. We beached the canoe, padlocked it to a tree and took an overnight hike.
That paddle gave me a real appreciation of what “Voyageurs” must have gone through…yikes.
Had an eerie feeling of deja vu while there—-your picture sheds some light on why i felt i had been there before—I had! Thanks for the memories. aj
Yes, they are on the east shore of Jackson Lake and Ranger Peak is in the background.
Thanks, Andy. It was a long, long time ago and I haven’t been back there since.

What a great place to build condos. Maybe an Applebees and a gas station, too.
