Well, once again I’ve established my centrist bona fides: I’ve been called a leftist and a fascist, right-wing ideologue in the comments to the same post (as well as a liar). Even though I know I’m not any of those things it still smarts. I suppose that is one of the problems true centrists have to deal with—being attacked from all sides.
It particularly hurts that it was over at Winds of Change, which continues to carry on some of the most vibrant, open, and interesting discussions in their comments sections. On the one hand I don’t like being called names and ad hominems are difficult to respond to—nearly the only thing you can do is ignore it. Otherwise you just get into a shouting match.
The center looks extreme to one on the fringe.
