When Foreign Policy Is a Family Business

I’m glad that the major news media outlets are going after the problematic treatment of U. S. foreign policy as a family business hammer and tongs. The sort of implicit influence peddling that’s going on is repellent and counter to U. S. interests.

I only wish they’d had this consciousness years ago. The Clinton Foundation was no less troubling. These corrupt arrangements will poison our foreign policy for years to come, long after their principals have left the scene.

And, once Clinton lost, donations to the Clinton foundation plummeted. Coincidence?

I’d just add that the Clinton Foundation was troubling, but what the Trumps are currently doing is light-years ahead of that in terms of corruption.

  • I think it’s awful in both cases. Both should be condemned. And people wonder why we trust our government less than the Danes do theirs.

News reporting has become so awful I religiously avoid most of it. Can anyone point me in the direction of the hammer and tong issues?

    Steve,
