Whatcha Talkin Bout, Willis

More good news for Chicago. 17 of the 20 highest property tax bills outside of New York City are in Chicago, led by Sears Willis Tower. Mario Marroquin reports at Crain’s Chicago Business:

Office landlords in Chicago and New York are paying the largest property tax bills in the country, despite the woes afflicting the sector.

According to a new report from real estate research firms PropertyShark, based in New York, and Santa Barbara, Calif.-based CommercialEdge, which ranked the largest property tax bills for office buildings last year, 82 of the top 100 were paid by buildings in New York City. And one Chicago building cracks the top 10.

The Willis Tower at 233 S. Wacker Drive, which paid over $50 million in property taxes in 2022, is the only office property outside New York’s five boroughs to reach the top 10 list.

Excluding New York buildings, 17 of the 20 largest tax bills for office properties nationwide were paid in Chicago in 2022, according to the report. Other buildings in the top 50:

I wonder what its property tax would be without the property tax multiplier?

Anyone with a pulse knows commercial real estate is the next looming disaster. But this seems like as good a time as ever to comment on a couple of your recent posts.

Biden gaslighting aside, the economy is a mess, and deteriorating.

The supposed jobs created is BS. The end of Covid panic and people returning to work is not jobs created.

The recent jobs report is an intentional fraud. Report great numbers……and revised numbers for recent months is ignored. Shorter: propaganda.

Good stats for consumer debt? I’d like to see more on that. So why are 20% credit card balances rising and way above norms? People prefer expensive debt?

    Manufacturing indexes stink.

And as a preview, the strategy is clear: the economy stinks under Biden, but blame it all on Trump and the Republicans w.r.t. the debt ceiling. A bigger lie does not exist.

Hunter? Need I even comment? Why are we in Ukraine? They have the goods on Hunter and The Big Guy.

Why are we so passive on China? Could it be a Private Equity investment measured in billions by the Chinese government in Hunters firm. That oh-so-PE savvy Hunter Biden. Nothing to see here. Interestingly, that firm just happened to buy (a company I’m very familiar with) a MI based company holding militarily important intellectual property.

But Biden has never talked to his son about his business affairs. Right. Just about Joes own Uber services, Air Force 2 and Air Force 1.

We ignore this, media ignores this, because we just simply are no longer a serious country. But love those Tic Tok videos. And how are the Lakers doing?

    @Drew

    C’mon man.

I thought were a serious person. It is all sunshine and rainbows. Hopefully, a backwoods ER Doctor can help you out.

Honestly, learn how to google, do statistical regressions, and post links. You will feel much better. Getting into the health-scam industry would not hurt.

Sorry, Tasty. I must have caught the fever. Doc steve is right. All sunshine and rainbows.

Hold on a second. …………… Wow. Would you look at that. If it isn’t the most beautiful unicorn I’ve ever seen. Hunter needs to paint it and sell the painting for a million dollars………..
