What If They’re All Dead?

I’ve wanted to raise this question for some time. What if the hundred some-odd hostages captured by Hamas in their October 7th attack on Israel are all dead? Will that make a difference to the Israelis? Should it? Will it make a difference to the United States?

    Wow. Just wow.

You mean if they have been raped, tortured and mutilated in fact – and killed – or if they have been raped, tortured and mutilated – but not killed – we should alter our view? Thats a moral compass I choose not to inspect.

I ask any Democrat, since you seem to be the Hammas supporters, how do you support any Democrat politician right now. With their obviously political stance? It is crass beyond comprehension.

That’s not intended to be an incendiary comment on a blog site. How do you justify your beliefs?

  • I don’t believe that the hostages’ fate should have an impact on our position. Whether it would on Israel’s I have no idea. That’s why I’m asking. To repeat my view: I don’t think we should support Israel unconditionally but I do think we should oppose Hamas unconditionally.

I think that the Biden Administration is twisting like a fish on a gaff trying to thread the needle between the president’s full-throated support for Israel over a period of decades and Israel’s conduct of the war and they’re doing it for political purposes. Israel hasn’t changed and it’s not because Netanyahu is evil. Whether he’s evil or not the Israelis see ending Hamas as an existential matter.

I dont know any Democrats who support Hamas. I seriously doubt any hostages are still alive. I think it more likely they will just continue to let people believe it’s true as leverage. Israel should continue to try to kill Hamas and we should continue to provide them arms. However, we should continue to press them to allow aid.

    It’s nonsense.
Palestine is a region not a race, just as Hispanic is a language grouping not a race. Hamas is a part of a death cult called Islam.
They want Jihad, give them that.

The IDF is conducting a war of genocide against the native people of Palestine, both Muslim and Christian, and the Israeli Jewish population fully and knowingly support the genocide.

  • The IDF is conducting a war of genocide against the native people of Palestine.

The Mizrahi are among the “native people of Palestine”. So are Bedouins. Oddly, the Bedouins tend to be on Israel’s side. There are a lot more Bedouins in Israel than in the West Bank or Gaza. A number of Bedouins serve in the IDF.

Other “native people” include Lebanon’s Maronites. They’re basically the Canaanites. The Mizrahi are the Israelites. The status of the small Druze population is unclear. Genetic studies have found that they might be “native people” of Palestine like the Mizrahi and the Maronites. But they might be more recent arrivals as well.

The Sunni Arab population of Palestine is only native in the same sense that the Boers and Bantu-speaking population are native to South Africa.
