We Don’t Need a Policy Change

We need a 12-step program. That was my immediate reaction when I read this editorial at The Economist, “Why the situation on America’s southern border has become unmanageable”. The first step in AA’s recovery program is recognizing that you’ve failed and that the situation has become uncontrollable.

The number of illegal border-crossers is the highest for 21 years. The number of “encounters” in the 2021 fiscal year (which ended in September) was the highest on record. (“Encounters” and the number of border-crossers are different, since one person may attempt several crossings.) The perception that Mr Biden is less hostile to migrants than Mr Trump was one factor in the rise, but not the only one. Covid-19 has hit economies to America’s south, adding to the poverty, violence, natural disasters and autocracy which many people are eager to escape. As more migrants arrive at the border it becomes harder to manage them in a consistent way.

The situation can no longer be explained away as seasonal variance.

My posts may be a little cynical today, reading about statistics that only back up observations made months ago by those on the ground at the border – border patrol agents and residents living close to the border.

For months now the Biden administration has turned a deaf ear and blind eye to the border chaos. Those who support Biden, here on this site, have even equated the numbers crossing illegally with those of the previous administration – always bringing the former president in as the villain, and leaving the current one to rest on his laurels of being a democrat (I guess). Such dishonesty, however, only widens the chasm between people of not only different parties but different belief systems and better eyesight!

What strains the “Bidenites” credulity even further is how both Harris and Biden have handled their responsibilities at the border. While the VP only made a glancing gesture of interest during one border visit, the president himself has made none. The Homeland Security Secretary, Mayorkas, has simply lied his way out of acknowledging the real damage and mismanagement occurring since Biden assumed the presidency.

Finally, what benefit is there to such a politically orchestrated charade? Will it keep Dems in charge longer to dismiss or disregard how their policies are failing both the citizens of this country, but also the migrants pouring across the border under oftentimes dismal conditions and harsh cartel experiences? Basically, the last 10 months, under the Biden regime, seems to be nothing more than exemplifying how not to govern a country.

If you cannot trust an ER Doctor on immigration, who you gonna trust? Next you will be claiming he doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground about global warming. Oh wait, that’s me.

As soon as Democrats learn that Hispanic voters are not like black voters, the borders will be closed. Black voters may realize that Democrats are still Exalted Cyclops Byrd’s party, and segregation never went away. They just figured out a new way to keep black people out of their schools, neighborhoods, and workplaces.

I will give President Biden credit. He is only half a racist. Unfortunately, the other half is a pedophile, but because of his senility, he probably sniffs black people and hates little girls.

    “Such dishonesty”

That was not what I said which is why you think it dishonesty. Please stop lying.

The Biden admin represents Democratic politicos, coastal elites, and suburban housewives.
The colored vote is an inside joke that they take for granted.
None of these constituencies live unprotected in the wild.
They don’t live in the real world, but the one that they see in TV commercials, sitcoms, corporate diversity presentations and so on.
I happen to like Mexicans, at least when they’re not slipping a knife between my ribs, but we need to slow the flow, our justice system is overwhelmed and our prisons are overflowing.
It takes time for assimilation to gel.
If it were possible to poll illegal immigrants from anywhere on borders, they would close them with the exception of their families. Looking at it that way, maybe we should give them the vote, at least they’re not living in a fantasy world like our domestic enclaved financial elites.

We appear to be in an age of great migrations, like the early neolithic farmers, or the Indo-Europeans (our ancestors), or the Germanic tribes overrunning the Western Roman Empire, or the Mongols. Today, the colonial subjects are coming for the once colonial masters in their homes.

If so, the actions of national governments are largely irrelevant. The forces driving the migrations are endogenous to the moving people. The final result will be a new, non-White civilization everywhere.

As I have written before, Russia is the Helm’s Deep of the West.

  • We have been in such an age for the last 2,000 years if not longer, cf. the Huns’ migration (300 – 500AD), the Arab invasion of North Africa (600 – 800AD), the Mongols (1200 – 1400AD), the Turks (600 – 1700AD), the European invasion of the New World (1500 – 1900AD), Napoleon’s conquest of much of Europe (1803 – 1815AD), Germany’s attempts in the last century to occupy Europe (1870 – 1945 AD?), etc. What has impeded the movements has been the will of governments to resist.

The Arab invasion was halted at the Pyrenees, the Turkish invasion at Vienna and Lepanto, Germany’s progress at the English Channel and the steppes of Russia (as was Napoleon’s). It is less that invasions cannot be repelled than that our governments lack the will to do what needs to be done.

This is what happens when immigration laws are selectively enforced at the whim of whatever President happens to be in office and whatever political pressures they may be under. Zero consistency and a legislature that couldn’t manage a vote to wipe its own ass with toilet instead of sandpaper results in what we’re seeing today.

And the perverse domestic politics aren’t helping. For example, for some it was the most immoral thing ever for the US government to apprehend and separate illegal immigrant families in different detention centers, but somehow it’s perfectly fine to instead promote policies that encourage illegal immigrant families to self-separate with some of them literally throwing their children over fences to get them into the US. Incentivizing desperate families to give everything they have to coyotes to deliver their children to the US is not any kind of moral policy.

It would be bad enough that our policy is so inconsistent and incompetent, but even worse is that it is morally bankrupt. That was true under Trump and remains true under Biden.

Every year millions of children are separated from their parents because the parent has been arrested. In all instances other than immigration that is deemed to be a fault of the parents’. We’ve created a new protected class.

Child endangerment is considered at least a misdemeanor in all states of which I’m aware. In some it’s a felony. Again we’re treating illegal migrants as a protected class.
