I walk dogs in my neighborhood multiple times daily, 365 days a year. Doing that I walk between three and five miles every single day.
Each of the last several days I have been stopped on one of these walks by a neighbor to warn me of other neighbors being accosted, threatened, and occasionally robbed in our generally low crime neighborhood.
That’s a major change. It’s a big deal.
Same thing here in Naperville. On downtown streets. And break ins, including break ins with people still in the house. In the West Highlands, just five minutes from downtown.

The point is it’s new, ice. You get yourself in trouble when you tell the truth, but this is the truth. For those they have caught it’s black kids age 18-25 coming in from two places. The west side of Chicago (that’s a long way, for those who don’t know the area) and from Bolingbrook. That’s an adjacent suburb but still a ways to come to get into downtown Naperville. Some have speculated it’s part of the “take it to the suburbs” mentality of BLM. Others that it’s guys making drug deliveries locally then hitting a home or two on the way out. Who knows?

The crime situation in Chicago is national news – we certainly hear about it here in Florida. I can only hope it stays away from you and your neighborhood.
