My dad took this picture from one of our camping spots during a float trip on the Current River in Missouri more than 40 years ago.
This takes me back to long ago arguments about which was the best float: the Current, the Jacks Fork, or the 11 Point.
(For my money I always liked the Black river best.)
I’ve done all of the above. Did 500 miles one summer. There was a time that I knew every rock in the Current River from its shallowest putting-in point ‘way down into Arkansas.
I used to love the Jacks Fork. Of course, that was nearly a half century ago.
