The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. The winning Council post was Big Lizards’s post, “Fighting Back Was Not an Option Part 2†(for which I voted). I’ve avoided perseverating on the murders at Virginia Tech but I can heartily recommend Dafydd ab Hugh’s thoughtful consideration of the larger issues in the tragedy. Second place honors went to Cheat Seeking Missiles for “Media At Its Worst On Display At Virginia Techâ€.
The winning non-Council post was Belmont Club’s post, “The Laughter in the Darkâ€. This is a concise indictment of “the apologists of terrorâ€. Tied for second place honors were Pajamas Media’s first-hand report of the Green Zone attack on the Iraqi parliament, “Breaking: Present at the Bombing†(which I nominated and for which I voted) and QandO Blog’s take on the notion that we should be happy to pay our taxes because by doing so we are supporting democracy, “Tax Day Self-Congratulations†(for which I also voted).
