The Council has spoken!

The Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week. This week the selection for the winning Council post was Done With Mirrors’s post, “Our George”, a discursion on the greatest American, George Washington, his birthday, and the power of myth. The second place post was New Sisyphus’s cri de coeur, “The Breach”. I’ve already said my piece on the post here. For New Sisyphus and other members of the “Smash and Run” school of the War on Terror, the course of action you’re recommending is not politically possible. Anything that’s not politically possible is not possible, period, and advocates of such a policy will inevitably be disappointed.

The winning non-Council post was Michael J. Totten’s travelogue of his visit to the heart of Iraqi Kurdistan, “The Beginning of the Universe”. The second place winner was Sigmund, Carl, and Alfred’s not-to-be-missed post, “The SC&A Address to the Grads of Stupid University on Iraq”.

You can find a complete list of the results here.

“Anything that’s not politically possible is not possible, period, and advocates of such a policy will inevitably be disappointed.” Straight from the Glittering Eye School of Political Reality- you’re absolutely correct.
