The Council has spoken!

I was very impressed with the complete list of Watcher’s Council nominations last week. Every single Council post was a winner and deserving of recognition. How to choose the best?

Well, the Watcher’s Council has announced its picks for the most outstanding posts of the preceding week and I have to admit that I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome: the posts I voted for came in first and second, respectively. This week for the winning Council post was Callimachus of Done With Mirror’s post on the history of the civil rights movement, “Chaos or Community”. It didn’t happen just exactly the way it’s been remembered. The second place post was Dr Sanity’s remembrance of Ronald Reagan’s kindness to her in the wake of the Challenger disaster, “Ronald Reagan — A Personal Recollection”.

The winning non-Council post was Armed Liberal of Winds of Change’s post on the Iranian situation, “Just a Second — It’s Not That Dark Yet (And We Have a Really Big Flashlight)”. Tied for second place were Maobi’s consideration of the history of the treatment of non-Muslims by Muslims, “Malaysia and the Pact of Omar” and The Belmont Club’s post, “The Coming of the Bomb”.

You can find a complete list of the results here.
