The Art of Persuasion

There is nothing like a coordinated editorial against the president to convince the president and his supporters that journalists are not engaged in a conspiracy against him.

Not what I would call a conspiracy, but sounds like people are being influenced by the big lie. More like standing up for themselves as a group. Where you are completely correct is that it will have no influence on Trump or his supporters and will cement their beliefs.

We have pretty carefully avoided the Omorosa garbage, but my current theory is that this is all staged. She will get a big secret payout, or a spiffy job offer. All the accusations will just make more of his supporters turn out. If they find actual racist stuff, the turnout goes even higher. At least that is my current prediction based upon all th tother revelations of past behavior. The worse the behavior, the more that the Christian right supports him. I am guessing we see the same thing here.

  • Keep in mind that the press’s approval rating is even lower than Trump’s and is going in the opposite direction.

My 2 cent’s worth, Omarosa is an imposing, aggressive, attractive woman, and Trump found her fascinating and appealing. Right up until he didn’t. Turns out she had the run of the West Wing, without a security clearance. This is Trump’s fault. So, when jettisoned, she decides to write a tell all book, this is just cashing in. She’s counting on this political polarization to sell copies, and the media’s anti-Trump barrage is counting on it to improve ratings and sell ads.

Omorosa had the run of the White House a couple of Presidents ago, and managed to get herself fired from it after running through four different jobs with the Clinton Administration. She’s a classic loose cannon.
