Happy Thanksgiving to all! Your table was of course beautiful, and the bird looks fantastic–is this the smoked turkey i heard about?
Doug and I made a 24 lb. turkey—finding a large turkey is always kind of goal for us…we didn’t eat until 7:30, with all the fixins carted to WB plus what Barbie contributed. (we had 5 pies total if that tells you anything!) Barbie used Bethie’s crust recipe, and i really liked it, it’s lighter than my traditional brick-like crust.
Janice’s napkins are always a wow; happy holidays to all! Ann
Yep, that was smoked. 12 hours worth. It’s incredible—nothing quite like it.
One of these days I’ll have to do an explanation of our table setting. Only the cloth, napkins, and wineglasses are from after 1870. And the turkey and cranberry sauce, of course.
Spectacular layout, Dave, from someone who considers toast and soup fine dining. Happy belated Thanksgiving. And it’s always nice to hear from Daniel. I miss his thoughts.
And a Happy Thanksgiving to you too–hope it was a wonderful day.
Thanks, Bill, it was. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.
Best to you and yours, Dave.
Good to hear from you, Dan. Hope the new job is going well.
