Testimonials are generally considered a very weak form of evidence. Complaints that one scientific study or another did not take testimonials into account are even weaker. One of the purposes of scientific studies is to determine the truth without relying on testimony.
If you take testimonials as unassailable evidence, you must necessarily believe in God, demons and angels, alien abduction, and the validity of astrology because there are testimonials to all of them. Those beliefs in turn have implications of their own.
