I’m still struggling to decide who I’ll support for Chicago mayor. I have a list of people for whom I won’t cast my vote. Bill Daley because we’ve had enough Daleys. Susana Mendoza, Toni Preckwinkle, and Gery Chico are part of the corrupt Chicago political establishment. The Chicago Police Department has a cultural problem. Gary McCarthy was its superintendent from 2011-2015. Laquan McDonald was gunned down in the streets by a Chicago police officer during his tenure. I won’t vote for him. He’s part of the problem.
Candidates I’m considering are Bob Fioretti, Jerry Joyce, Lori Lightfoot, Paul Vallas, and Willie Wilson. Each has severe shortcomings.
