November 9 is pretty early for snow to be sticking in Chicago. I don’t recall an accumulation of snow at all in Chicago before Veterans Day.

We’ve had two snows here already, the first in late October. More expected Sunday.
Nice to see the addition on your neighbor’s house, generally a good sign for a neighborhood.
Speaking of Veterans Day. This Sunday is the 100th anniversary of the armistice.
Yes, I was planning on remarking on it. This week I’ve been lecturing people on the origins of Veterans Day. I gather that most Millennials aren’t much more aware of the First World War any more than most Baby Boomers are aware of the Thirty Years War.
I see little reason to believe that the Feiler Faster Thesis is limited to politics. How long before there are attacks on WW I memorials on the grounds that they’re racist? WWII?
On WW1 memorials? We’ve had them spray painted black even a year ago. Antifa made claim. AS to the snow, we had two inches stick on Oct. 15, Melted the next day, but things should get very unsettled and more dangerous as the the effects of Climate Change take root.
