Print media has gone down the garbage shoot, and is employing a family-friendly “page 3” girl strategy. If they can just keep Gen-X males until the economy recovers.
My local newspaper just increased subscription rates by 20%, which seems steep given that I read less of it. Also annoyed that they stopped providing discounts two years ago for those who pay annually or semi-annually. The subscription price also seems to be getting close to newsstand price, but apparently hardly anybody buys papers off the rack anymore.
I can tell from mentioning newspaper stories to friends that most of my peers have moved-on from paper. I’ll probably reluctantly pay-up, but complain about it every chance I can take.
When I was a kid, we received two dailies, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, and I think we also received a couple of weeklies. Those days, of course, are long gone. I’ve never subscribed to a Chicago paper.

Princess Leia was friends with the Ewoks, who were environmentally correct. (Best I can do.)

OT: @Dave, you may want to stock up on canned pumpkins — shortage anticipated again.
My wife said exactly the same thing to me this morning.
