We’ve watched the pilot to the new ABC family sitcom/dramedy Speechless on Hulu. It’s about a family consisting of a fairly nebbishy father, a very driven mother (played by Minnie Driver), and their children, one with special needs. We loved the pilot and have great hopes for the series.
That’s about all I’ll say about it. I wouldn’t want to give away the fun. It premieres on Wednesday on ABC.

If it’s got Minnie Driver, it won’t last long – at least not with her in it. She’s the best super-hot crazy chick of my generation. (Yes, I’ve still got a thing for her, despite both of our advancing years. To be very fair to her, 46 ain’t what it used to be. And apparently people keep thinking I’m in my mid-thirties instead of my late forties. The body work appears good, but the transmission, engine and chassis are all shot on me.)
Her version of “Stand By Your Man” is still the best. 😉
I just watched it. Imagine Greta Garbo playing Ninotchka singing it and you’ve pretty much got it.
