In this musing about the need and parameters for reorganization of the EU I think there’s something that the author, Guy Verhofstadt, isn’t taking into consideration. In that particular animal farm some of the animals will always be more equal than the others. Can you imagine Germany being held to the same standards as Portugal? How? What about Italy?
One thing that did occur to me in reading the article was imagine a United States in which the Articles of Confederation were continuously being revised. That may be the EU. Talk about dystopic.
