Mike Shedlock posts a graphic which should put to bed the claim that businesses have a huge amount of sidelined cash. With the exception of a few anomalies like Apple which is notoriously resistant to increasing its domestic workforce the companies sitting on big wads of cash are sitting on big debts as well.
Mish has touched on this topic repeatedly for a couple of years or so. It doesn’t seem to have made any difference in people’s perceptions on the issue.
I have seen him post this before also. IIRC, cash was increasing before the recession.
