Around noon today our little puppy girl, Mira, will be in the ring at the Samoyed Club of America’s 2005 National Specialty Show. For those of you who aren’t in The Fancy, as it’s called, a specialty show is a dog show in which only dogs of a single breed compete. There will be dogs, breeders, owners, and handlers from all over the country and, possibly, all over the world there.
As I mentioned earlier this specialty show was to have been held in Biloxi, Mississippi. The venue at which it was to have been held was completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The whole show was moved to Owenboro, Kentucky. It takes years to make the arrangements for a national specialty show. Kudos to the hosting club and the Samoyed Club America for bringing the show off despite very trying circumstances.
A comment on the show was written into the Congressional Record.
I wish we could be there to watch our little girl strut her stuff. It will be quite an adventure for her. I hope she’s a good girl for Nancy (our handler). Well, Nancy’s the best there is so I know that if there’s a show-worthy performance in Mira, Nancy will bring it out.
good luck to your sweet pooch.
Love the graphic from the show!
Good luck to Mira! She’s a sparkling showgirl, congratulations to all! Ann
What a sweetheart. 🙂
