This is a picture of my dad taken more than 60 years ago in Taxco, Mexico. Pictures of him are relatively hard to come by (he was usually on the other side of the camera). It’s not a particularly good likeness but I still delight in this picture because it shows him in a pose my siblings and I would recognize: a light meter around his neck and a travel guide in his hand. I suspect my mom was holding the camera.
Some people say I look like him and I do, a little, but I think I actually resemble my mother more. A combination, really, which is what you might expect. I think I do have some of his mannerisms.
