Let Him Depart from Public View

I want to agree with those of my commenters who are very tired of the brouhaha surrounding Dr. Anthony Fauci. Enough, already. Let him depart from public view.

Nonetheless, there are several issues that deserve scrutiny and which don’t involve Dr. Fauci personally. First, should any appointed federal official be allowed serve in their posts past age 70? If J. Edgar Hoover had retired at 70, it would have been during the Johnson Administration. If Dr. Fauci had retired at 70, COVID-19 would still have been in the future.

Second, we still don’t know a great deal more about the origins of COVID-19 than we did in 2020. It may have originated in an animal, it may have been a lab leak, or something else. As I’ve said before, I think we’re unlikely ever to know much more unless China presents evidence while defending itself in a civil suit for damages in a U. S. court. That in turn would require changes in the federal law governing sovereign immunity.

AIDS became prevalent in the US in the early 80s (and had probably been around much longer) and it took until the mid 90s to identify SIV as the precursor from chimps. At this point I think only some virologists care. The right would only care if they could link it to Fauci and the left would like to leave it to the scientists.

Like Trump after his first term, it would be nice to just let him fade away. Instead, the right will keep after him until they make him a martyr, like Trump. President Fauci, anyone.

Asian rice paddies are the breeding grounds for almost all influenzas, because they bring together in close proximity all sorts of wild animals, especially migratory birds, and all sorts of domestic animals, especially pigs and chickens, and people. Viruses jump between animals and people, exchange DNA/RNA, and become pandemics. That’s still my bet: covid is a routine product of the paddies, like all the other flus.

But, if you must have a conspiracy, my favorite is Ron Unz’: Covid was developed in the US’ germ warfare facility, USAMRIID, at Ft Detrick, MD, and planted in China during the International Military Games by US military athletes.

And every last one of you is the problem. No accountability. Just a yawn. Move on. The dead are dead. How moral.

All it takes in America today is status, lawyers, political clout, political bias, media and terrifying apathy by the citizenry. The vipers know this. Play you all for fools. And there is another perp right behind.

A pox on all of you. Go ahead. Adopt this attitude. You are the problem. Nothing will change.

Don’t tell me he can’t be prosecuted. That’s an open issue. His diaries speak to his despicable nature. Maybe there ultimately is nothing legally prosecutable. But shame him to hell. Only an idiot doesn’t know what he did.

Perhaps we are slow. What did he do?

LOL. Trump obviously takes bribes in his crypto fund and we get silence. Fauci is accused of stuff for which there is only innuendo and conspiracy theory.

If you have something bring charges. Really, this is just like the IRS lady that you held charges over for a couple of years and then dropped because there wasn’t anything there to actually prosecute her with.

    @Drew
If you want to prosecute the system, fine. That is what allowed the travisty to occur. Start with a president shutting down the US economy for 2 weeks continuing for 2 years. Vaccines were a side-show.

Donald Trump was a NYC real estate developer. I doubt his hand are clean. I wonder what his diary would reveal. (For the record: I thought Trump should have been allowed to fade away.)

You do realize that Fauci had no authority to shut anything down? That was mostly done at the state level. Occasionally at the federal level but that was done by Trump and his appointees, not Fauci.

If you mean me, quote me, and cite it.

I wrote: “… a president shutting down …” To my knowledge, Fauci was not president, but I could be wrong.

Sorry, you are correct. I think I just reflexively (sometimes) point out that much of the time (most?) people are blaming Fauci for decisions made, carried out and enforced by others.
