Judgmental Maps

Where have I been? I was unaware of the judgmental map phenomenon until I ran across this old post of Dustbury’s in which he remarks on the judgmental map of Oklahoma City. I immediately did a little searching and, sure enough, there is a judgmental map of Chicago here. I think it’s a little inadequate. According to the map I live between “Koreans” and “Indians & Hasidic Jews” which isn’t entirely correct. Much as I love it I’m sure I could come up with something snarky about my neighborhood.

The concept is funny but the execution of it less so.

  • As Edmund Kean is alleged to have said, dying is easy; comedy is hard.

Humor is the most difficult of all literary genres. I have many gifts and I appreciate them but of the gifts I do not possess the one of which I’m most envious is the ability to write humor.
