It’s a Scholarship Program!

The big question about the Miss America Pageant is not what its viewership will be the first time it’s presented after its significant new reforms. It’s what its viewership will be the time after that.

IMO beauty pageants, generally, have been anachronistic for some time. I don’t watch them, never have, but I guess I’m not the target audience.

    Anachronism is right.

What they need to get some culture war eyeballs is some controversy, like allowing transgendered contestants.

We won’t have swimsuit competitions anymore, eh? Let me guess … I foresee web pages filled with selfies shot by swimsuit-wearing contestants, and videos at YouTube and Vimeo and so on. So viewers can really appreciate the intricate details of a modern beauty contest.

    Sure.
