How to Tell When You’re Losing

As I read the various op-eds and editorials on Hillary Clinton’s email and our incipient agreement with Iran (just to name two), I see a common thread. When you need to explain that appearances to the contrary notwithstanding, you’re actually winning, you probably aren’t. Just as in checkers or handball in politics it’s pretty easy to tell who’s winning. Winners don’t generally need to explain themselves.
