Gratified

I just got off the phone following a conference call that I’ve been dreading for a week with representatives of a Big 3 auto maker, representatives of a major bank, and my client. My function, as usual, was to keep my client from shooting himself in the foot.

Somewhat to my surprise the meeting turned towards doing something I’ve complained about the lack of for fifteen years. If you’ve ever wondered why big businesses are the way they are, you need look no farther than this for an example. It took fifteen years, a series of disasters and near-escapes, and innumerable interminable meetings and conference calls to arrive at the plan I proposed fifteen years ago.

    Better late than never, Dave!

  • I’m having a similar experience dealing with publishers. The good news is that publishers have reached the 1990’s. Too bad it’s no longer the 90’s.
