Gina Haspel

If torture was carried out there during Gina Haspel’s tenure as chief of a CIA “black site”, she should not be confirmed as head of the CIA. And, yes, waterboarding is torture.

Whether torture is effective or not is moot. The end does not justify the means and we are signatory to international accords prohibiting torture.

Maybe, it is time to renegotiate those deals, also.

(I have no idea what that means, but we may be getting screwed.)

Yeah, she should not be confirmed.

Also, people seem to have forgotten that Trump was a big rhetorical supporter of torture. He agreed to defer to Mattis on that issue – so what happens when Mattis eventually leaves the admin?

Agree that she should not be confirmed. She was also involved in destroying the tapes to cover up torture.

The story implicating her in torture has been retracted.

Bob- Have a link? Pro publica said retracted the part about her torturing Abu Z but said she did torture a couple of others. She also was part of the concert up.
