Yesterday I attended a presentation on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Very interesting as you might expect, especially under present circumstances.
Particularly interesting was the part of the presentation dealing with what were called “red flags”, indicators that what is going on is actually corrupt.
I was unaware that under the Obama Administration the enforcing the FCPA became a major emphasis of the Department of Justice and that has continued under the Trump Administration.
As even the news fresh out this morning indicates, a better term would be selective emphasis.

Should address the issues of rewards offered to the Princelings of office holders. Should at least require disclosure and disclaimer. Such as, “I’m Joe Biden and as president I will be firm with China trade issues.
Disclaimer: My family owns an equity firm in partnership with the communist government of China. But I assure you that will not affect my judgement or policy.
Or maybe the disclaimer should say something like I have my Trump branded products made in China. My daughter has all her products made there also. We have lots of interests in other countries also, but we are mostly going to try to hide those. Oh, and I am going to promote business in my own properties while POTUS.
