Don’t you understand that asking for civility is just a dog whistle for white patriarchy? Along with being reasonable, logical, obeying the law, turning the other cheek, etc., etc.

Seneca. The problem is that for too many prevailing is not enough; you’ve got to humiliate your opponents as well.
