Candidates for Neologism of the Year (Updated)

I’m taking nominations for neologism of the year. As you presumably know, “neologism” is a big word for a new word. So far the best I’ve heard (read, actually) is “Clintenacious”.

Update

Candidates proposed:

Turkollusion
Brexit
antifa

I’m not sure it qualifies, but it seems like “Fake News” needs to be near the top of the list.

Other than variants of Brexit, Calexit, antifa and altright haven’t seen much in the way of new neologisms, lots of polysyllabic compound word salads though.

    Covfefe.

Turkollusion is made up from a satire site. No one actually uses it.

Trumpnomics as per this National Interest article.

Deadnaming, referring to someone by an identity they no longer use, e.g. saying Bruce not Caitlyn won a gold medal.

    Numale, the woke male feminist

BREXIT, maybe, is acceptable, We know what it means — Britain leaving the European Market. We know both Tories and Laborities use the term, British and Europeans and Americans. So it passes some sort of standard for reasonability.

ANTIFA, other hand, is basically a conservative label for liberals willing to fight. “Antifascists” might be a better term, but we can’t have that in the modern world. Something shorter is better, something chosen by the people pretending outrage. Conservatives cream their jeans these days saying “Democrat Party” rather than “Democratic Party,” and “Antifa” is more of the same. Why give the usage any help?
