Box scores on the punditry’s take on Iraq

Over the last few days I’ve linked to articles and columns by George Will, Robert Kaplan, the New York Times editorial page, Richard Holbrooke, Frederick Kagan, David Ignatius, and Peter Bergen on what the U. S. should do about Iraq. I’ve summarized their positions in this table. All corrections gratefully received.

I’ll continue to update this table as more pundits’ opinions come in.

I find that, at this point, my own view tallies most closely with Peter Bergen’s with a little Richard Holbrooke and a small amount of Frederick Kagan.

  • Dave,

You’re way ahead of me (and not for the first time)! The table is a great idea.
Also, I’m happy to see that we share a positive opinion of Bergen’s piece.

I’d be very interested in your reaction to my “Quarantine Iraq” post, at http://americanfuture.net/?p=2083

  • Thanks, Marc. I plan to add to it. Tomorrow I’ll take a look at Mort Kondracke’s piece.

I’ll take a look at your piece, too.
