I think that Donald Trump is a loose cannon who says things for shock value, to rile people up, and to get headlines. I don’t think he’s temperamentally suited for the presidency.
I also think that importing Chinese EVs will be hard on the domestic auto industry. I have problems with importing any product from any country that has received massive state subsidies.
Of course the news isn’t the effect of the Chinese autos. Its the absolutely blatant dishonesty of the media. Not one word from them need be taken seriously, on any topic.
If political people want to make hay with Trump’s comment, so be it. Its almost their job. But the media? Just depicable.
I think the boys crying wolf have overplayed their hand. And in the process destroyed an important institution.
At least this election season won’t be a snoozer.

Trump may not be temperamentally suited for the presidency yet still have the best instincts for winning the election.
My concern is that there’s no one left in his orbit with the persuasion to temper his snap decisions or fits of anger.
A second Trump presidency might make the first one seem mild.
