AHCA

I won’t have much to say about the Republicans’ health care reform reform bill until the ink dries and we see what the Senate does with it. When I get around to writing about its merits I suspect there won’t be any.

All I can is that this is what happens when you enact major social legislation without substantial bipartisan support.

The tragedy of it all is that once it’s stamped out the Affordable Care Act the Congress might think it’s finished with health care but health care will definitely not be finished with the Congress.

Seems pretty premature to discuss it. They tried to keep this plan secret, then they didn’t have it scored. For some reason speed in passing this was the most important part of the bill. That suggests a lot of revision by the Senate.

Yeah, like Trump’s budget, the details of this don’t matter much…yet. I think this was primarily about GoP Congressmen fulfilling a political promise.

I agree with both Steve & Andy in that the AHCA will probably meet lots of revision in the Senate, and that much of the zeal to pass it quickly was to keep a campaign promise appeasing the R base?

It’s frustrating that change/reform is mainly fueled by political advantage, rather than simply creating benefitial policy for the people.

Apparently you have been busy. It’s a sop to billionaires and is designed to kill people.

    I believe it’s been in the newspapers……

My eyes glaze over when I read most of what they have to say these days. I know they don’t like Trump or Republicans. I wish they’d get beyond partisan posturing to more substantive coverage.
