I have just had the single most brilliant idea of my life and I don’t know what to do with it. I suspect that only Microsoft or Google is positioned to exploit the idea. I could execute it myself but I couldn’t really make it go. I’m seriously considering contacting management at Google.

I’m experiencing the most extraordinary combination of elation and frustration.

  • Hi Dave,

Maybe you should contact Critt Jarvis and talk to him about his own epiphany a few years back that led to talks with Vic Gundrota at Google- and which crashed through no fault of Critt’s (or Vic’s for that matter. Caveat emptor in terms of any 3rd party tech partnerships you’d bring in to help make that kind of a pitch).

  • Yeah, yeah, the internal combustion engine replaced by teams of zombie rats on steroid drips. Had that one myself, a full year ago. Had to outsource it to Albania; you wouldn’t believe how hard it is to get an IPO in this country. And people say we’re over-regulated. Well, napalm cleaned up most of the mess, and Google had to re-shoot the satellite maps over parts of southeastern Europe to reflect the, shall we say, altered appearance of certain provinces. Good luck to you, though.

Are you just going to shelve the idea, or is it something you’d want help finding a conduit to one of those megacorps to pitch it to?

  • Got a conduit to Google? If not, I might, though it’s kind of a back door. But back door to front office could be quick at Google for the right idea.

  • No, I don’t, amba. I’d thought of just doing a cold call.

Any and all suggestions gratefully received.
