  • Nice!

  • The Tennessean (in Nashville) has endorsed Romney. In the past few elections they have apparently endorsed Obama, Kerry and Gore.

Just got back from a few days in Quebec. Maybe too many cheeses are part of their problem. (Sampled a few, and other than one excellent bleu, the rest were just ok.)

  • “Why Is the U. S. Impossible to Govern?”
Easy – because not unlike Afghanistan we are a tribal society.

Why has the U.S. been impossible to conquer?

Pasteurized process cheese food — mad, bad and dangerous to digest.

How dare you impugn DuPont’s products, PD.

  • The Orlando Sentinel has endorsed Romney. They endorsed Obama in 2008. In my opinion (not shared by most conservatives in the area) the Sentinel has been a pretty centrist paper through the years I’ve been reading it. (Make that since the early 1980s.) They’re a little left of center but not hugely so, and with the exception of a couple of quirks tend to report the news pretty well.

Link here, but it may be behind the pay wall.

  • Thanks, Ice. I appreciate it.

The endorsements are beginning to come in substantial numbers now. I’ve found about 50 so far. Most are from papers endorsing the candidate of the same party they endorsed last time. However, some, like the Sentinel, have changed positions and I plan on concentrating on those in a post over the weekend.

  • I heard one of the Tampa papers endorsed Obama today. I’ll try to figure out which one and whether or not they’re a switch.

  • Ah, it’s the Tampa Bay Times. When I heard the name today I didn’t remember any such paper. Turns out they used to be the Saint Petersburg Times. They’re backing Obama, and they backed him in 2008 as well.
