I’m only going to quote one sentence from John Kass’s Chicago Tribune column about the “leaders of the lockdown party—Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot”: “Rookie politicians make rookie mistakes”.

The people of Chicago elected her, a mentally defective mutant. What does that say about the people of Chicago.
Everywhere in America, we elect sociopaths, known criminals, mutants, metal defectives, pedophiles/homosexuals, traitors, and we wonder why the government is a monster.
We need a monarchy that establishes itself by conquest, like the Tudors. When they get senile, we need the guillotine.
And veteran politicians make rookie mistakes. Take a bow, Joe Biden.
Term limits might be a tad more humane than the guillotine. Less cleanup, too. Just sayin’.
Politicians behave the way they do because the electorate allows or wants them to. We are disengaged, or naively believe we can bend them to our way, if only for a particular issue or period of time. It almost never ends well. Limiting the power vested in government is the only answer. “Good government†is a very rare thing.
And then some rookie politicians are completely without shame.

Not to comment too much on Illinois politicians.
The luckiest Illinois politician must be ex-Gov Rauner. The one with the best timing is ex-mayor Emanuel.
