“County” commissioner, not “country” commissioner. Every Texas county has at least four, and some have more than that. Very powerful. They, along with a county judge, run each of the 254 counties Texas has. Daugherty is an incumbent commissioner in Travis County. Conservative, in a suburban sort of way. He’s done a good job.
This is good, but not as good as the ad for the Orleans Parish Coroner from a few years ago. I had no idea coroners were elected in Louisiana, but I’m not surprised. Enjoy. Dr. Minyard won, by the way.

Thanks for the correction. Fixed.
I have three criteria for a good ad, whether it’s for a bar of soap or for a political candidate:
1. It’s memorable.
2. It tells a story.
3. It sells the product.
The Daugherty ad does all three. The other is amusing but I don’t think it really sells the product.
This ad has had many mentions today by the news media. I also think it’s a great ad with good “wife-acting” too!
She’s the star. Great delivery.
