Sen. Obama’s Acceptance Speech (Updated)

It appears to be mandatory that I’ll comment on Senator Barack Obama’s acceptance speech last night. I think that Sen. Obama did what he needed to do last night, reasserting traditional Democratic themes, taking strong stands, and attempting to define the campaign as one against a Bush third term. I have no doubt that his speech will hearten, rally, and energize Democrats who are legitimately proud of their candidate. I also think it would be ungracious to deny them their moment of euphoria.

Update

If you’re looking for a round-up of media and blogospheric takes on the speech, you could do no better than Joe Gandelman’s round-up.
