The United States Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake of about 4.3 magnitude took place at 3:59am CST about 50 miles WNW of Chicago:

That’s enough to feel. Even the most seismically stable areas get them sometimes.

Did you feel it? (I didn’t.)

A couple years ago there was an earthquake downstate, and that one had the ceiling fans swinging. Interesting 20-30 seconds or so.

  • Neither my wife nor I felt it. But, then, both of us grew up in earthquake country. 4.3 ain’t nothin’ special.
