Dinner time

This evening for dinner I had a small lamb chop, a small baked potato with sour cream, and fresh asparagus (probably the Mexican harvest).  With this I savored a glass of Argentinian Malbec.  Total cost:  under $10 (with the wine pro-rated).  With a chef of my skill the same dinner in a restaurant would have been $30 or more.
My wife’s out of town.  She went to Los Angeles to give a presentation at a conference and she’s spending the weekend with family (all of her family is in California).  Whenever my wife’s out of town I always seize the opportunity to eat something that I wouldn’t cook for her and she’s not particularly fond of lamb.

If you’re reading this, Sweetheart, yes, there are trimmings from the lamb chop for the dogs.  Jenny would be very disappointed if there were no trimmings.

  • Mmmmm ….lamb chops .. yummmm. I like cooking them on a high heat so they go all crispy on the outside. Damn, I’m hungry now. I’m guessing 8am is a little early for me to cook a chop.

Is there another way? 😉 And is it ever to early to cook a chop?
